Last year was full of change, highs and lows, and many lessons learned. I moved into the role of CEO at Humans Doing, learned how to be a first-time father, navigated new hires, and welcomed new clients. As we begin a new year, I am filled with immense gratitude for my team, family, and partners. Having such a resilient, hardworking team makes my job easier and allows me to keep the “main thing” the main thing.
To our incredible team, I cannot express enough how grateful I am. The unwavering dedication and genuine partnerships you foster with our clients and candidates alike, transcend the role of mere recruiters to true talent partners. Your commitment to prioritizing our clients’ and candidates’ best interests over financial gain, embodies the integrity and collaborative spirit that propels our company forward. Additionally, I humbly appreciate our clients engaging us as strategic talent partners beyond the recruitment process, and for recognizing how we share our deep talent insights to strategically build, engage, and motivate high-impact results-driven teams.
I’d be remiss not to offer a heartfelt shout-out to the Sales Team. The combination of their relentless efforts, robust partnerships, and authentic engagement with our clients, community, and Recruiting Team, drive a culture of success that makes us all proud to say we are part of the Humans Doing family! Your collective efforts marked by steadfastness through market fluctuations, integrity over short-term gain, and a deep-rooted passion for building long-term trusting relationships, are essential to our success.
Lastly, I would like to thank my Co-Founder Josh McAfee for our continued partnership as we drive the business forward. You are a phenomenal business partner, a respected thought leader, a champion of the organization, an even better friend, and consistently provide strategic balance as we navigate the business terrain. I sincerely thank you.
This year has also taught me the invaluable lesson that the market moves at its own pace, independent of our expectations or desires. I’ve learned to navigate through varying market conditions, realizing that adaptability, sharpening our technological edge, and having a team ready to excel even in challenging times are crucial for sustained success. My growth in strategic business acumen and leadership has been profound. Understanding the delicate balance between applying pressure and offering support, has been instrumental in guiding the entire organization through a year of both wins and learning experiences.
One of my favorite events this year was undoubtedly our Women’s Series, which stood out as a remarkable platform for intellectual and successful women to speak candidly about navigating and thriving in male-dominated industries. The honesty, the powerful insights shared by our guest speakers, and the enthusiastic participation (from women and their allied supporters!) made these events not only a celebration of women’s empowerment, but also a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in the world while pursuing business excellence.
In 2024, I am filled with optimism for the continued growth of our business, bolstered by my confidence in the economy’s ability to rebound, and the subsequent potential for a resulting strong growth trajectory. I am especially hopeful about fostering growth alongside our clients, particularly as we nurture relationships with emerging companies, guiding them from modest beginnings to major success. This is what I call “growing together into a true partnership”. Thank you for trusting Humans Doing with your business this past year.
